ONKOSEV was founded in 2005 by a group of cancer patients and their relatives and volunteers who made it a principle to help patients. Our association centre is open and accessible every day and has all kinds of equipment. Our target group for dissemination: – Young people, especially the ones in our local area; – Leaders, youth workers and social workers working with young people especially working with young people with health issues particularly cancer; – Project partners and local stakeholders such as health authorities, governmental organisations; – Public and non-governmental organisations working on health; – Public and non-governmental organisations working on youth; – Organisations that support the project such as co-funders. We provided health and cancer literacy training to 100 people within the scope of the “Youth Health Advocates, Health Literacy and Health Rights” project submitted to the Center for European Union Education and Youth Programs. We conducted the Health and Cancer Literacy Instructor Training Program by meeting with young people from 4 provinces, Ankara, Istanbul, Mardin and Muş. In 2016, we organised a campaign to send toys to kindergarten students studying in villages. Within the scope of the campaign, we distributed the toys, which families with good financial means in various provinces of Turkey bought from the allowances of their children with cancer, to the kindergarten students at the Yücetepe Village Primary School in the centre of Muş. Within the scope of our project called “Humanity Goodness Team”, we provide life coaching to 10 doctors, 20 teachers and approximately 150 university students, cancer patients and their families. We offer psychological support to volunteers, 5 days a week, to deal with the problems of cancer survivors and their families. In addition, doctors and volunteers in our association take a close interest in home- school students by providing life coaching with them.
