Nowadays we are driven by the pressure to be the BEST, to achieve success and to break stigmas. Profession, bank statement and car define us in a society marked by consumerism and appearance.
But the question is: what about health?! What do we do without health?! The answer is simple - NOTHING!
In this article, I leave you with the story of Selçuk, a young man who had to grow up fast and face one of the biggest challenges of being human - cancer!
At age 16, what seemed certain became uncertain! A simple weakness became a nightmare and Leukaemia became a reality. During his journey, Selçuk underwent various types of treatment - pills, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. But as life is not a mathematical equation of independent variables, constraints appeared along the way, one of them being canker sores. As a result of this side effect, which lasted for 2.5 months, Selçuk could not feed himself properly and as a result, his body did not receive the necessary nutrients, affecting his blood values and making his treatment longer.
Difficult, right?! But not for this young man! In 2011, affected by leukaemia, Selçuk lost his older brother. As such, his focus and motivation was to ensure that his mum did not lose another child. And, in his words, he found inspiration in success stories he met at the hospital.
Selçuk is now cancer-free but says it was a life-changing experience. It was through this great challenge that he learnt to be resilient and to enjoy the present, something that new generations don't know!

Nos dias de hoje somos movidos pela pressão de sermos os MELHORES, de alcançarmos o sucesso e quebrarmos estigmas. A profissão, o extrato bancário e o carro definem-nos perante uma sociedade marcada pelo consumismo e pela aparência.
Mas a questão que se coloca é: e a saúde?! O quê que fazemos sem saúde?! A resposta é simples – NADA!
Neste artigo, deixo-vos a história do Selçuk, um jovem que teve que crescer rápido e enfrentar um dos maiores desafios do ser humano – o cancro!
Aos 16 anos aquilo que parecia certo, tornou-se incerto! Uma simples fraqueza tornou-se um pesadelo e, a Leucemia tornou-se uma realidade. Durante a jornada, Selçuk foi sujeito a vários tipos de tratamento – comprimidos, quimioterapia e radioterapia. Mas como a vida não é uma equação matemática de variáveis independentes, pelo caminho apareceram condicionantes, uma delas as aftas. Como consequência deste efeito colateral, que durou 2 meses e meio, Selçuk não se conseguia alimentar devidamente e, como tal, o organismo não recebia os nutrientes necessários, afetando os valores sanguíneos e tornando o tratamento mais longo.
Difícil, certo?! Mas não para este jovem! Em 2011, afetado pela leucemia, Selçuk perdeu o seu irmão mais velho. Como tal, o seu foco e motivação era garantir que a sua mãe não perdesse mais um filho. E, segundo as suas palavras, ele encontrou inspiração em casos de sucesso que conheceu no hospital.
Atualmente, Selçuk está livre de cancro mas afirma que foi uma experiência transformadora. Foi através deste grande desafio que aprendeu a ser resiliente e a aproveitar o presente, algo que as novas gerações desconhecem!

Во денешно време нè движи притисокот да бидеме НАЈДОБРИ, да постигнеме успех и да ги разбиеме стигмите. Професијата, состојбата на сметка и автомобилот нè дефинираат во општество обележано од потрошувачки навики и изглед.
Но прашањето е: што со здравјето?! Што правиме без здравје?! Одговорот е едноставен - НИШТО!
Во оваа статија, ве оставам со приказната на Селчук, еден млад човек кој мораше брзо да порасне и да се соочи со еден од најголемите предизвици на човечката природа - ракот!
На 16 години, она што изгледаше сигурно, стана несигурно! Едноставна слабост прерасна во кошмар, а леукемијата стана реалност. Во текот на неговото патување, Селчук помина низ разни видови на третмани - таблети, хемотерапија и радиотерапија. Но бидејќи животот не е математичка равенка со независни променливи, на патот се појавија ограничувања, едно од нив беа устни инфекции. Како резултат од овој несакан ефект, кој траеше 2.5 месеци, Селчук не можеше да се храни како што треба и поради тоа неговото тело не добиваше потребните хранливи материи, влијаејќи на неговите крвни вредности и со тоа го продолжија неговиот третман.
Тешко, зарем не? Но не за овој млад човек! Во 2011 година, поради леукемија, Селчук го загуби својот постар брат. Поради тоа неговиот фокус и мотивација беше да се осигура дека неговата мајка нема да изгуби уште едно дете. И, според неговите зборови, тој нашол инспирација во успешни приказни кои ги запознал во болницата.
Селчук сега е без рак, но вели дека тоа беше искуство што му го промени животот. Преку овој голем предизвик, научи како да биде отпорен и како да ужива во сегашниот момент, нешто што новите генерации не го разбираат!
